  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup warmed whole or 2% milk
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for topping)
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Lightly butter the bottom and sides of a 9×13 baking pan.
  2. In a small pot, melt unsalted butter and add minced garlic; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.
  3. In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  4. Add warmed milk, egg, and cooled garlic butter mixture to dry ingredients. Knead on low speed for about 10-12 minutes until smooth.
  5. Cut dough into 12 equal portions and shape into balls. Place in the prepared baking pan.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap or kitchen towel; let rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  8. Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush baked rolls with the remaining melted garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
